The need to protect and nurture forests

MIRAIWOOD®︎ wants to prevent the decline of forest resources through the effective use of waste wood. At the same time, it is important to contribute to forest expansion for the future society. 材料メーカーの供給体制の変更のため、高バイオマス石油製品（73.3%）は材料に限りがありますので、売り切れの際はご容赦ください。

※原油不足や目詰まりが原因ではありません。

また、以下のように木材率の改善が可能となりました。

・標準：木材５１％以上＋植物成分２２％以上

・高配合：木材５５％以上＋植物成分２２％以上（コストアップ、薄肉制限あり）

木材比率や生分解性樹脂の使用はご要望に応じて変更が可能です。

Due to changes in our supplier’s distribution system, supplies of high-biomass petroleum products (73.3%) are limited. We apologize for any inconvenience should they sell out.

In addition, we will be adjusting the wood content as follows:

・Standard: 51% or more wood + 22% or more plant-based components

・High-content: 55% or more wood + 22% or more plant-based components (higher cost, thin-wall restrictions apply)

The wood content ratio and use of biodegradable resins can be adjusted upon request.

デザインストア「CIBONE（シボネ）」にて、我戸幹男商店の新作POPUPストアが行われました。

漆器づくりで排出される木粉をアップサイクルしたMIRAIWOODによる「MW-Z」シリーズが展示、販売されました。

神社仏閣の伝統的な形状をサンプリング、伝統工芸の技で仕上げたアート性の高い器です。

A new pop-up store by Mikio Gado Shoten was held at the design store “CIBONE”.

The “MW-Z” series, made from MIRAIWOOD—an upcycled material using waste wood powder from lacquerware—was displayed and sold.

These are highly artistic vessels, sampling the traditional shapes of shrines and temples and finished with traditional craft techniques.

明治「ひらけ、カカオ」事業から、アップサイクルデザインプロダクト「CACAO STYLE」が発表されました

2023年6月28日、六本木ヒルズにて明治チョコレートを製造する際のカカオ豆の皮（カカオハスク）をアップサイクルして作った高付加価値の生活雑貨ブランド「CACAO STYLE」が発表されました。弊社のMIRAIWOODも活用してカカオのハスクアップサイクル化に協力、サスティナブルな製品コンセプト、企画、デザイン、試作〜量産まで一貫開発した新商品を発表いたしました。

GATO bonbonnière

伝統工芸山中漆器をモダンでラグジュアリーなデザインで牽引する「我戸幹男商店」とコラボ開発。カカオと漆器製造の木粉をハイブリッド化したお菓子入れ「ボンボニエール」を開発しました。昨今、海外の情勢不安やウッドショックなど木製品を取り巻く状況は芳しくありません。そこで、漆器製造で排出される木粉を回収、MIRAIWOOD技術でサスティナブルな漆器としました。石油プラスチックと異なり、木の風合いと高級感を持つ高級漆器が完成しました。

Cafe CACAO

カカオを主体に、市販の紙コップに使用できるおしゃれなスリーブ＋ハンドルをデザイン。セットのスイーツ用のCACAOキャニスターも合わせてデザインしました。来客や会議、オフィスやイベントなど感染対策としての紙コップを、おしゃれなスリーブスタイルでカフェ気分を演出します。CACAOキャニスターは高級羊羹などのほか、明治ミルクチョコレート一箱をぴったり収納できます。来客やオフィスのデスクにチョコレートをもっと楽しめるアイテムです。

2022年2月発表のカカオタンブラーの製品化の遅れについて

一般的に、直接食品に触れる商品については食品衛生法に適合したうえで、さらに残留農薬や水銀など有害物質が使用時に溶出しないか等、安全性を厳重に確認を行うため、２年程度の実証実験を行なうこととされています。カカオタンブラーは、すでに食品衛生法に適合し、厚労省のポジティブリストに登録された物質のみを使用するなど、安全に厳しい配慮を行っておりますが、さらなる安全性の確認をしっかりと行ったうえで販売を開始する予定です。

Upcycled Design Product "CACAO STYLE" from Meiji "Open, Cacao" Project Announced

On June 28, 2023, "CACAO STYLE," a brand of high value-added lifestyle products made by upcycling cacao bean husks used in the production of Meiji chocolate, was presented at Roppongi Hills. We presented a new product that we have developed consistently from concept, planning, design, trial production to mass production of sustainable products.

GATO bonbonnière

Gato Bonbonnière was developed in collaboration with Mikio Gato Shoten, a company that leads the traditional craft of Yamanaka lacquerware with its modern and luxurious design. We have developed "bonbonnière," a candy container that is a hybrid of cacao and wood powder from lacquerware production. Recently, the situation surrounding wood products has been unfavorable due to the uncertainty of the situation overseas and wood shocks. Therefore, we collected wood powder discharged from lacquerware production and made it into sustainable lacquerware using MIRAIWOOD technology. Unlike petroleum-based plastics, the result is high-end lacquerware with a wood texture and a luxurious feel.

Cafe CACAO

A fashionable sleeve + handle designed mainly for cacao, which can be used with commercially available paper cups. A CACAO canister for the set of sweets was also designed to match. The CACAO canister can hold a box of Meiji Milk Chocolate as well as a box of high quality Yokan (Japanese sweet bean jelly). This is an item that will make chocolate more enjoyable for guests and office desks.

明治「ひらけ、カカオ」事業にて、カカオの未利用部位をアップサイクルしたコンセプト製品が発表されました

株式会社明治の進めるサステナブル事業「ひらけ、カカオ」にて、チョコレートを作る際の廃材「カカオハスク（カカオ豆の殻）」をMIRAIWOOD技術でアップサイクル。そのコンセプトデザインが明治の新商品「カカフル」「カカウェル」発表会にて公開されました。

先立つこと２０２２年１月、株式会社明治とMIRAIWOODはカカオ廃材をアップサイクルし、カカオ成分51%以上の成形材料の開発に成功しました。２０２２年３月２８日、株式会社明治より「日本初のカカオ素材のタンブラー」を発表、テレビニュース等で大きく報道されました。

今回の発表は、カカオアップサイクル素材の安全性や品質性能を厳しく検証した上で、将来の事業化を目指して、新たなカカオ素材製品のコンセプトデザインを発表したものです。明治とMIRAIWOODは、環境にやさしい産業と素材を目指して、共創による事業化に取り組んでまいります。

In the Meiji "Hirake, Cacao" project, a concept product that upcycled cacao skins was announced.

Meiji Co., Ltd.'s sustainable business "Hirake, Cacao" uses MIRAIWOOD technology to upcycle waste materials "cacao husks (cocoa bean husks)" when making chocolate. The concept design was unveiled at the presentation of Meiji's new products "Cacaful" and " Cacawel".

Prior to that, in January 2022, Meiji Co., Ltd. and MIRAIWOOD upcycled cacao waste materials and succeeded in developing a molding material with a cacao content of 51% or more. On March 28, 2022, Meiji Co., Ltd. announced "Japan's first cacao tumbler" and was widely reported on TV news.

After rigorously verifying the safety and quality performance of cacao upcycled materials, this announcement announced the concept design of new cacao material products with the aim of future commercialization. Meiji and MIRAIWOOD will work on commercialization through co-creation with the aim of creating environmentally friendly industries and materials.

加賀市新製品開発助成事業に採択されました

MIRAIWOOD技術を活用した伝統工芸、地域産業のサステナビリティを向上させるプロジェクトとして、カノー株式会社様、株式会社我戸幹男商店様が加賀市の助成事業に採択されました。山中漆器は、伝統の技による高いデザイン性、高度な漆塗りで高い人気を誇ります。しかし、漆器を製造する際、どうしても大量の木粉が排出されてしまいます。

本プロジェクトでは、この余剰な木粉をアップサイクルし、再び食器の原料として活用することで、伝統工芸や近代食器のサステナビリティを向上させ、環境意識の高い欧州市場でのプレゼンスを獲得することを目標にしています。サステナブルデザイン、プロダクトデザイン、ビジネスデザインを高度に融合させるプロジェクトです。
